What are CHAMP’s made out of?

Why do we remember Boston Celtics of early 80s, Los Angeles Lakers in late 80s, and Chicago Bulls from 90s and New England Patriots of 2000s. These teams have reached the pinnacle of success in their sport after a lot of sweat and hard work. They had to play like a team to win all those accolades. Even Tiger Woods who re-wrote the history books with his accomplishments in Golf, Roger Federer in Tennis, and Michael Schumacher in F-1 formula car racing – there are many more but the gist of it all is these are true CHAMP’s. What does it take to be a true CHAMP?

C – Conduct: Believing, Desirability, Self-Talk, Self-Care represents the Conduct of a true Champ. These champs have the Belief, Desire, Motivation and Discipline to get it done. They take no excuses for preparation, practices, attitude and visualization.

H – Honesty: True Champ is always honest with himself – they never lie to themselves. They are honest to the time commitments for preparations, practice, strategy etc. They are honest with their weaknesses too so that they can work on them and eliminate them.

A – Attitude: The Attitude of a winner is having zero tolerance to BS. Attitude of a true Champ is Integrity. The Attitude of a true Champ helps them to prepare, plan, prioritize and play the game of life whatever sport they elect to participate in. They keep ‘I’ (individual or ego) out of the realm for winning the game of life (community or team)

M – Mind Set: For every Champ, mind-set is 80% of the equation and mechanics are only 20%. By concentrating solely on mechanics a Champion is not crowned until he conquers his mind-set. True Champ know what is the most important ingredient in the game, they know to refine, rejuvenate and redo to become winners.

P – Performance: Every Champ measures their performance, they bring the heat every single day – they get real results, they play the game to win it, not just to play big. They monitor their results each and every day and make necessary changes in their approach to optimize the results.

7 positive qualities of successful people

Brian Tracy said once that we use only 2% of our Brain capacity. Could you imagine what could happen even if we increase by 1% more which is like a 50% increase from our current capacity.

Positive Personal Management: Personal management skills include coming to work daily and on-time, meeting work deadlines, developing career plans, knowing personal strengths and weaknesses, demonstrating self-control and learning new skills.

Positive Time Management Skills: Time management is a skill that can help you to reduce stress and improve productivity. Poor time management impacts every area of your life, work, relationships, health etc. Being able to spend more quality time with people you love is good enough reason to improve this skill.

Positive Health Habits: Sleeping and waking up at the same time each day will keep your rhythmic balance in place and make you feel more energized. Do not speak ill of others and be consciously in gratitude each and every day. Exercise regularly, eat well and when possible meditate.

Positive Mental Habits: “This too shall come to pass” should be etched in your brain regardless of what may come your way. This will make you steady and not be too high on good days and too low on bad days. Aim to be on an even keel and first step in accomplishing is to talk less.

Positive Mental Food: Maintain regular times for your food intake however many times you are used to eating which will improve your metabolism. Enough protein and right fats is the name of the game – less caffeine would help too. These days’ people eat much more than they should, to be honest.

Positive Self Talk: Remember your ‘Will Power’ is not as important as your ‘Wont Power’. Try to keep away from negative thoughts because it takes 3 positive thoughts to kill 1 negative thought. Constantly repeating positive affirmations will help quite a bit too.

Positive Mental Attitude: Success is predictable, think about what you want for the long term and write it down – Constructive response to stress is calmness – All successful people are calm under great duress and stress. Mindset is 80% and mechanics are only 20% for all successful people – So work on your mind.

3 questions you should always ask yourself!

In any situation, if you care to ask yourself 3 questions
What did I do to cause this situation?
• Could I have prevented this situation?
• How am I responding to this situation?

If another driver is in a rush on the highway and cut you off, how do you respond to that situation – show your middle finger, or get all upset about it such that your rest of the day is gone to dogs or you ignore that and completely forget that incident which is not worth brooding over.

Your choices are activated by your behavior – this repeated behavior over time becomes a habit. Over long period of time those habits do become reality – do become your life. So what are the choices you make, what behavior you inculcate and what habits do you develop. A great man said once “Life is your own damn fault”. Whether you are successful or a failure, you are still “self-made”. All of us are self-made unless you are born in royalty.

It is very easy to look at gifted athletes and say he is ‘very talented’ or say he ‘loves this game’. If Talent and Love can only make these athletes great, we would have millions of them. We have so few great athletes in this world is because they practice every single day in what they have talent at and what they love. They make it their behavior, they make it their habit and they make it their reality – not yours’.

We should take 100% responsibility of our life. Is it easy? No absolutely not! It gives you tremendous inner power if you do take 100% responsibility. That inner power will help you frame your Behaviors, Habits and realize Success. This alone is the reason for Fantastic Success or a Colossal Failure of any individual in this world.

The 9 environments of YOU!

As humans we are impacted by our surroundings 24 / 7 whether we want it or not. But most folks are not even aware of the impact these 9 environments has on them and their life. This concept called 9 Environments will either make people change or get stuck in their patterns for their whole lives. Hope you all after understanding the effect these 9 environments has on you can make subtle changes that can bring happiness, health and wealth.

1) MEMETICS: Our Beliefs, Our Paradigms and our world Views are known as Memetics. When you have a positive Memetic, or a positive belief system then you will look at other environments as positive. You will recognize opportunities in life, see ‘Good’ in people and find ways to positively contribute.
But if you have been raised in an environment with unhealthy memetics, things that show you how nothing is going to work out right, how everything is a struggle, how life is hard, how people are going to take from you then those are the filters through which you will see the World.

2) PHYSICAL: Physical is the one of the easiest for people to adjust to gain immediate results. Physical can be your home, office, possessions, Car – anything that you can touch. Do you have a home that is clear and clean in space or is it filled with clutter, chaos and confusion? Take a good look at your home, office or any possession and ask yourself this question – what is the purpose. Make sure those physical environment inspires you. If it is wasting your energy, then time to make a change.

3) FINANCIAL: Almost every human being in some way, shape or form uses the financial environment in their life. Most people dive into this environment first to make a change. Your financial environment is dictated by your goals, aspirations, your outcomes and the life style that you have designed for yourself. For many people they have designed one that supports them in leading their ultimate life. But for a lot of people they design their financial environment unconsciously and they continue to repeat the same habits over and over again.

4) NETWORK: Oftentimes your financial environment is dictated by your network environment. There is a reason for business owners to hang out with other business owners, employees hang out with other employees, and Millionaires always hangs out with other Millionaires. Is your network diverse? It means does it include both men and women of all ages, varieties, cultures, industries and all walks of life, or do you have more closed network that keeps you experiencing the same things over and over again. Always try to design your networks to be part of where you are headed in the future rather than clinging on to a piece of your past.

5) RELATIONSHIPS: This environment will include the top 5 people that you spend the most time around. What is the impact you are having on them and they are having on you from day to day basis. Do you have conversations that motivate you and inspire you? If those conversations are pulling you in the wrong direction, maybe it is time to take a closer look at that relationship and make changes. Once you begin to upgrade these relationship environment with some tact and skill, you will feel more inspired about all the rest of your environments.

6) BODY: Just like you have a mind, you have a body but you are not your mind or body. Every single human being is given a body when we come into this world. Watch yourself when you wake up in the morning. Do you wake up calm and collected or do you wake up with adrenaline rush and a few expletives. Most people treat their body like a playground rather than a Temple. What are you feeding it? Always attempt to operate this machine at its highest potential. Look at the energy levels that you run and begin to upgrade your environments to add cleaner, healthier energy to your body so as to live your ultimate life.

7) SELF: Self environment is one that oftentimes eludes people because you cannot see it but if you start to study who you are, if you study your strengths, your gifts, your talents, if you have ever done any work to identify what is your vision, your mission and your purpose, these are all part of Self environment. The greatest gift in life for many people is to discover what their passions are, what is their purpose, and to spend their life expressing those passions and purpose. But a lot of people will never make it to that place.

8) SPIRITUAL: People with common beliefs gather together in a physical structure to dwell upon a higher power that we can call energy or God. These physical structure can be a Church, Temple or Synagogue. These people with common beliefs are known as Religion. Just ask yourself whether you are committing your time and energy to your Spiritual environment and what is that giving you back in return. Often times in life if someone is getting off-track in life, it’s because they are not connected to or in touch with a spiritual environment.

9) NATURE: The most subtle environment of all – how much time do you spend outdoors on a daily basis. Fresh oxygen and enough sunlight are necessary for human bodies and most of us do not spend enough time outdoors. Research proved that being under florescent lights causes stress to human body, so ask yourself how much time you spend under sunlight. Spending time on grass or sand gives your body more energy that ends up keeping you emotionally and mentally stronger. You can use Nature to control the way you think, feel and act and to produce whatever result you are looking for in life.

Can you program your BRAIN?

When we were growing up, we all were kind of punished with not too kind words like ‘you amount to nothing’, ‘you want to be a beggar on the streets’, ‘this world will never need you’, ‘you will die poor’ etc. Those words may not hurt our conscious mind since only loved one’s usually said those things out of fear that we are not mending our ways. But our sub-conscious mind definitely heard those same words and then it got programmed in our brain. To be successful, we need to re-wire our Brain to change the negative programming with positive affirmations. This is what is known as programming your BRAIN.

Some of the positive affirmations that you can try for yourself are:
• Money is easy to earn
• I deserve all the money that I earn
• I consistently use money wisely
• It is a lot of fun to earn money
• I feel real good earning as much money as I deserve

These are just some of the examples – you can devise your own and keep faith as you say those words. I have 20 other affirmations that I use in my daily exercises. Send me a mail if you like to have all of them.

Latest Brain research has made it crystal clear that our Brains are conditioned by not only our genetics at birth but also by our beliefs and habits. So changing our habits and beliefs can help us transport ourselves into what we truly want and achieve.

What is SUCCESS?

Success has not one definition but probably a million – each of us define Success differently that appeals to us and Success cannot be measured with any yardstick. But in my firm opinion if one can understand these 4 things in this order, then SUCCESS can be owned.

CLARITY: Having a very clear path in your head as to your short term goals, mid-term goals, and long term goals. Some people are obsessed with only short term goals and they have no idea of what they are going to accomplish same time next year. They put out a lot of energy in day to day goals and are mighty successful at it. But to have clarity of your ambitions, desires, outcomes and obstacles in the mid to long term is sure path to Success. One has to put their goals on paper to have clarity in the process of accomplishing those goals.

CONFIDENCE: Clarify will feed the Confidence. One who lacks confidence surely will have rough time finding Success. Confidence is something you can find with having a mentor, one whom you can share unabashedly and unequivocally of your failures as well as successes. Again Confidence can be situational and one has to be very careful about it. What we are looking here for is equanimity – being the same person with either failures or successes. Confidence is something to be found within oneself rather than external factors.

CONVICTION: ‘Whatever it takes’ attitude surely will feed this conviction. The willingness to do what it takes is Conviction. Doing only those things that are easy to do is not Conviction. Getting out of your comfort zone is what Conviction is all about. Successful people are always asking themselves what I can do today that is going to help me accomplish my goals. Creativity is harnessed with Conviction in my opinion. No one is born with Creativity – it is something that can be learned and improved with Conviction.

COMPASSION: The richest people in this world are the most givers – have you noticed that! The more you give, the more you earn is no joke. You got to share the fruits of your own labor and those of others. Some people give in terms of mentoring other folks to teach them the same principles that got them to where they are. Compassion may be the last ‘C’ in this list but that is the most important ‘C’ in my opinion. Compassion is what feeds your Conviction, Clarify and Confidence.
